Entrepreneurship Lecture Series

The author and innovation expert Dr. Mario Herger will share rare insight into technological progress and how start-ups can manage the fears associated with it.

What current fears are shaping us? What fears did people face in the past when today’s technologies did not exist? Why are we not at the forefront of the competition between cultures for new technologies today? What measures do we need to take in order to view new technologies not as something frightening and hostile, but as a means of solving humanity’s major problems? In “Future Angst“, innovation expert Dr. Mario Herger poses the crucial questions regarding technology and progress and presents professional and forward-looking solutions. September 4th – 8th, 2023 – International Entrepreneurship Summer School 2023

The International Entrepreneurship Summer School (IESS) is an online program that is free of charge for qualified applicants. It is designed as a practical introduction to the world of Entrepreneurship and start-up culture.

The International Entrepreneurship Summer School 2023 will take place from 4th to 8th September with a kick-off event on August 27th.

The IESS is open to dedicated future Entrepreneurs. You are invited to bring your own business idea to the program. If you do not already have an idea of your own, you are  welcome to join a team around an existing idea. The Entrepreneurship Hub will also present selected cutting edge technologies that have recently been developed at TU Braunschweig as possible business ideas for you to work on.

Following the kick-off event on August 27th you will form hybrid or fully virtual teams of international participants. The Entrepreneurship Hub will support you in this process.
Each team will work on one business idea and combine their skills and experiences to design a detailed business model, which they will then present in a final pitch event at the end of the IESS.

May 17th 2023 – Robert Tietje: Mobility Innovation – Silicon Valley tech culture
 
Entrepreneurship Lecture Series

Our new online Entrepreneurship lecture series begins with an exciting talk by Robert Tietje.
Robert Tietje works as a tech evangelist and intrapreneur at Volkswagen. In addition to stations at Volkswagen in Canada, China and Silicon Valley, he is also working on the topic of „Data driven product design“ in Germany. During his presentation, Robert will provide insights into his work and discuss the topics from the perspective of Germany vs. Silicon Valley.

April  27th 2023 – Design Thinking for creative problem solving for start-ups and careers

As a founder or young professional, solving problems independently is an important skill. It is essential to know methods that help to develop creative solutions to problems. In this workshop, the Design Thinking method will be discussed in depth in order to be prepared for a potential start-up or career entry.

20th – 24th February – Entrepreneurship Spring School 

The Entrepreneurship Hub cordially invites you to participate in the Entrepreneurship Spring School from 20-24 February 2023.

Do you have a business idea, are you looking for motivated co-founders and need support and inspiration to develop a sustainable business model? Or are you looking for innovative start-up teams to join? Then the Entrepreneurship Spring School is a good starting point for you to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and develop innovative ideas. In addition to exciting workshops by start-up experts and experienced founders, all teams receive individual business coaching. Students can also receive 3 ECTS. The Spring School will take place in the Aula at the Haus der Wissenschaft in Braunschweig.

Engineering Design Workshop – Design creative Solution to different Problems

Engineers create solutions today for the challenges of tomorrow. Participate in the Engineering Design Workshop and discover modern approaches to product development. In this Workshop your get an overview on methods and tools of design and systems engineering with real-world applications.

December 12th, 2022 – Start-up Christmas Evening

The Entrepreneurship Hub is happy to invite everyone to a joint Christmas party. In the courtyard of the old TU building and, in case of bad weather, in the architecture pavilion, we would like to use the time for intensive exchange and networking between start-up participants and interested parties with gingerbread, cinnamon stars and Christmas punch on December 12, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm. Prof. Asghari, Head of the Entrepreneurship Hub, welcomes the participants in an open atmosphere to exchange ideas with others who are interested in start-ups and to expand one’s own network.

December 6th, 2022 – Founderstalk with Dr.-Ing. Jan-Philipp Mai

Dr. -Ing. Jan-Philipp Mai is a start-up fundraising expert & strategist and CEO of JPM Silicon. The company JPM Silicon develops and implements technologies for the production, refinement and recycling of silicon with the goal of being able to produce CO2-neutral silicon in the long-term. 

During the Founderstalk, Dr. -Ing. Jan-Philipp Mai will explain why, in his view, university is the best time to start a company. He will talk about first steps, setbacks and best practice examples of a high-tech start-up from university.

November 24, 2022 – Entrepreneurship and Academia: Chances for Early Career Scientist

The work and research results of Early Career scientists often hold the potential to be applied beyond the university. They can have a significant impact on our society and play an important role in tackling society’s greatest challenges.

This workshop is designed to explore additional options for your future and ways to transform ideas or gained skills into practical steps. It will give you an insight into Entrepreneurship and funding opportunities in Germany. You can also engage with peers and discuss your research topics in the light of entrepreneurship perspectives.

November 22, 2022 – Founderstalk with Hadi Ghorashi 

Hadi Ghorashi is CEO and founder of leanact. His start-up, the Braunschweig-based IT company leanact, was founded in 2016. leanact develops software for municipalities and public institutions.

In the Founderstalk, he will share his journey from the idea to the launch of his startup and talk about his experiences.

November 10th, 2022 – Negotiation techniques

Do you want to get fit in negotiating? In a three-hour training you will get first insights into the world of negotiations. You will learn one of the most important negotiation techniques (the Harvard principle) and how to prepare specifically for a negotiation. In practical exercises you can directly apply and consolidate what you have learned.

The training with Sina Ehrenholz will take place on November 10th, 2022, from 10 am. to 1 pm. in English.
 

November 2nd, 2022 – Dr. Sven Beiker “Mobility from Silicon Valley – from tech companies, start-ups and old friends”

On November 2nd, 2022, Dr. Sven Beiker, founder and CEO of the mobility consulting company Silicon Valley Mobility, will share insights into the mobility industry of Silicon Valley during an online lecture.

In Silicon Valley, new business models, such as the field of electric mobility or autonomous driving, have been advanced and developed a lot in recent years. Tesla, Google, Waymo or Uber are just a few examples, as well as numerous innovative start-ups and tech companies. But the well-known automotive companies are also part of this and have been working on the future of mobility for years. One reason to take a closer look at the Silicon Valley ecosystem and ask why the pioneers of disruption are so interested in the “old economy”.

October 26, 2022 – Team Training

How is a team composed? How do teams develop? And how can I support teams to work optimally? All these questions are covered in this three-hour training. You will learn about different team roles, how a team develops, and how you can support the team or your team in each development phase. Practical exercises will allow you to directly apply and deepen what you have learned.

The workshop will take place on October 26, 2022, from 2 to 5 p.m. in English and will be conducted by Katinka Bertrix.

October 11, 2022 – Founderstalk with Fridolin Franke,Co-Founder and CEO of SOLAR MATERIALS

The start-up SOLAR MATERIALS develops recycling processes for solar modules and thus contributes to the change towards sustainable and resource-saving energy production. Due to the current decline in globalization, the regional recovery of raw materials is gaining additional relevance.

In the Founderstalk Fridolin Franke talks about his journey from student to entrepreneur.

22-29.08.2022 – International Entrepreneurship Summer School 2022

The International Entrepreneurship Summer School 2022 welcomes applications from students, researchers and early career scientists from all over the world. In its third year, the International Entrepreneurship Summer School will be held entirely online and take place from 22-29.08.2022 with an additional Kickoff Workshop on 14.08.2022.

The Summer School will provide insight into the German Start-up ecosystem and hands on training for those thinking about entering it. The week-long series of events will feature lectures from international Entrepreneurship experts, talks by Start-up founders sharing their experiences and personal advice from mentors and coaches.

Participants will form international teams, develop their own research-based Start-up ideas and design an innovative business model. In a final pitch, they will then be able to convince a jury and gain support in taking the next steps in their Start-up ventures.

Participation is free of charge for qualified applicants. Places are limited and allocated on a rolling basis.

June 28, 2022 – Dr. Mateusz Molasy “The method of shaping the culture of organization that supports knowledge management”

The lecture by Dr Mateusz Molasy starts by introducing the topic of knowledge management and its role in today’s organisations. It is assumed that the culture of an organisation plays one of the most important roles in any knowledge management initiative. Therefore, the concept of organisational culture is introduced and the types of cultures that support knowledge management are explained. Finally, the method for designing organisational culture is presented. The method is based on human resource management activities.

June 24, 2022 – International Start-up Day

The International Start-up Day is a unique opportunity to gain insights into the local start-up ecosystem in the Braunschweig region. In an interactive workshop you will be able to develop ideas, gain useful skills and learn how you can put them into action. There will also be an evening barbeque where you can connect with other participants and the Entrepreneurship Hub team.

May 11, 2022 – Founderstalk with Dr. rer. nat. Manoj Nimbalkar

Dr. rer. nat. Manoj Nimbalkar, Start-up Mentor and Co-Founder of DareToStart.org, says about himself that he is a scientist by training, an entrepreneur by choice and a coach/mentor by passion.

He has 15 years of combined experience in academic research and industry in Germany. During this time he has worked as a successful and experienced business development, programme and application manager in the field of science and technology.

April 20, 2022 – Online Founderstalk with Jan Stanczyk

Jan Stanczyk, Chief Marketing Officer, tells the story of Probility: their journey from a university spin-off startup to today. Along the way, he talks about important lessons the company has learned through competitions and programs.

The Start-up Probility aims to improve the working environment in production facilities with an intelligent safety system. The system is based on decentrally installed optical AI sensors and prevents collisions between people and transport vehicles. Probility thus improves safety on the one hand and efficiency in the manufacturing industry on the other.

April 08, 2022 – Core competence intrapreneurship: Creative thinking and acting for a successful career.

Exclusively for students at Ostfalia.

Certain soft skills are essential for a career within future-oriented companies.Intrapreneurship, thinking and acting independently to solve problems and create internal innovation, is increasingly becoming a core competency. This workshop offers the opportunity to acquire this important skill even before joining a company in order to optimize career opportunities from the very beginning.

February 22, 2022 – Founderstalk with Kristina Nikolaus

Kristina Nikolaus is the CEO and co-founder of the start-up OKAPI:Orbits, a spin-off of the TU Braunschweig in the field of New Space. OKAPI:Orbits has developed a software that avoids collisions in space and minimizes space debris.

The business magazine Forbes ranks Kristina Nikolaus as one of the 30 most promising people under 30 in Germany.

During the Founderstalk Kristina Nikolaus will share with you her journey with OKAPI:Orbits, a spin-off of TU Braunschweig in the field of New Space. Take the chance and learn about the mistakes and learnings on the way to space.
