MacGyver
Sustainable Entrepreneurship

   Awaken the MacGyver in you!

For the MacGyver Sustainable Entrepreneurship course, we are looking for creative problem solvers and tinkerers.

You will be provided with an e-scooter from the start-up Moovi. During the course, you will develop this scooter further and work out new solutions through teamwork. Screw, solder, saw and hammer… there are ( almost ) no limits to your creativity. The knowledge base will be provided by workshops of the Protohaus on well-known manufacturing processes for prototypes.

Finally, your prototype and the corresponding business model will be presented at the closing event and the best idea will be publicly awarded.

More information regarding the assignment and the schedule will follow in the introductory event.

Core Task

Develop a prototype as an advancement of the e-scooter provided by Moovi.

Task Description

First, familiarize yourself with the e-scooter from Moovi (e.g. driving experience, technical specifications). In the next step, identify several social-economic problems from which you will develop technical optimization proposals, taking into account entrepreneurship approaches and social-economic aspects, and then implement them in the form of a prototype. The basic requirement is that the implemented idea is innovative and satisfies a certain customer benefit.

The teams have the following resources at their disposal:

  • An e-scooter from Moovi
  • Material resources are provided by the Entrepreneurship Hub
  • Own materials (reimbursement of costs is not possible)
  • The infrastructure of the Protohaus
  • Knowledge (Entrepreneurship Hub + external coach).

The jury will pay attention to the following criteria, among others:

  • Added value
  • Technical implementation possibility
  • Economic feasibility of implementation
  • Degree of innovation
  • Inventiveness
